Bahrain’s success in maintaining tier-one status in the annual report of the U.S. State Department’s classification of countries in the field of combatting human trafficking for the third straight year, is a reflection of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s keenness to provide all human rights to citizens and residents alike, says National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) president Maria Khoury.
She praised the great efforts of the Interior Ministry and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority to combat human trafficking and protect migrant workers, while cooperating to educate society by launching a number of awareness campaigns in several languages. Khoury added that the combined efforts of all national bodies were the reason behind maintaining the achievement for three years in a row.
