HM the King issues decrees

HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Decree 44/2020 appointing Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa as the personal secretary to HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, with the rank of Undersecretary. The Royal Decree came into effect yesterday.

HM King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa issued another decree law 20 of 2020, adding a new clause (2) to paragraph (C) of article (8) featuring in law 78 of 2006 on insurance against unemployment. The new paragraph will read as follows: “Payment of a percentage of the wages of Bahraini workers insured under the Social Insurance Law, promulgated by Decree Law No. (24) of 1976, with a maximum of (50%) of the wage insured under it, in companies affected by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) fallout, who are registered with the Ministry in accordance with the terms and conditions set by the Minister, and the disbursement is for a period of three months from July 2020, subject to paragraph (e) of this article”.

HRH the Prime Minister and ministers, each in his own jurisdiction, shall implement the provisions of this law which shall come into effect starting today.
