Coronavirus takes six more lives, 567 additional recoveries

Six more lives were taken by the coronavirus (COVID-19) yesterday in the Kingdom, the Ministry of Health announced. The deceased were all men, and they included three citizens, aged 51, 71 and 79; as well as three expatriates, aged 41, 44 and 73. Their passing brought the total number of virus-related deaths in Bahrain to 117.

The Health Ministry expressed its condolences to the victims’ families. Meanwhile, the ministry announced early this morning that out of 8,221 COVID-19 tests conducted yesterday, 482 new cases were detected. These included 260 expatriate workers, 216 contacts of active cases, and six travel-related cases.

There were also 567 additional recoveries from the virus yesterday, bringing the Kingdom’s total number of discharged individuals to over 30,000 at 30,320. The total number of current active cases went to 4,123, with 48 in critical condition and 113 receiving treatment.
