Bahrain participates in online session on UN commission for women

The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) has taken part in the virtual informal final meeting of the 64th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women. The meeting reviewed the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and the results of the 23rd special session of the General Assembly.
It also assessed the current challenges facing the world and affecting the implementation of the Platform for Action to achieve gender equality, women’s empowerment, and contributions to the full realisation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
SCW General Secretariat international relations advisor Mohammed Al Faris said that despite the conditions caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the SCW continues to provide support and advice at the national, regional and global levels out of its keenness to sustain the efforts directed at elevating the status of women and the sustainability of their progress.
