The Ministry of Health has launched a competition to design the logo of the Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Award for Bahraini Doctor, which will be presented during the celebration of Bahrain Doctors Day. His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa had called for adopting Bahrain Doctors Day in November and for presenting an award to a distinguished Bahraini physician.
The competition is open to individuals, institutions, companies and specialised offices, the ministry said. The logo, to be designed by the participant, must reflect the significance and noble purpose of the event, express the Bahraini identity, and be genuine, not similar to or adapted from, other logos.
The design should be easy and not complex, feature the name of the event in clear letters in both Arabic and English, and be easy to print and use for paintings, prints, awards and souvenirs. The colours should be clear, harmonious and of high quality.
Participants have to provide a brief explanation of the design symbols and significance, the ministry said. Participants may submit more than one entry and the winner is obliged to implement any changes or additions required thereafter.
The entries will be evaluated by a committee of experts and specialists who will choose the winning design, which will be formally approved for use in all events, activities and publications related to Bahrain Doctors Day. The winner will be awarded a BD1,000 prize.
