COVID-19 takes three more lives; 484 additional recoveries

The coronavirus (COVID-19) took three more lives in Bahrain yesterday, the Ministry of Health announced. The deceased included two Bahraini men, aged 65 and 60, and a 60-year-old expatriate man. Their passing brought the total deaths due to COVID-19 in the Kingdom to 140. The Health Ministry expressed its condolences to the victims’ families.

Meanwhile, the ministry announced early this morning that out of 8,829 COVID-19 tests conducted yesterday, 384 new cases were detected, including 199 expatriate workers, 177 contacts of active cases, and eight travel-related cases. With those new cases, the total of registered coronavirus cases in Bahrain went over 39,000 ever since the first case was reported in February earlier this year.

There were also 484 additional recoveries from the virus yesterday, bringing the Kingdom’s total number of discharged individuals to 35,689. Following those recoveries, the total number of current active cases went to 3,302, with 48 in critical condition and 98 receiving treatment. The remaining 3,254 cases are stable. The total tests conducted in Bahrain increased to 788,910.
