One more COVID-19 death; active cases continue to drop

The coronavirus (COVID-19) took the life of a 55-year-old expatriate man in Bahrain yesterday, the Ministry of Health announced. His passing brought the total coronavirus-related deaths in the Kingdom to 141. The Health Ministry expressed its condolences to the victim’s family.

Meanwhile, the ministry announced early this morning that out of 9,889 COVID-19 tests conducted yesterday, 351 new cases were detected, including 193 expatriate workers, 154 contacts of active cases, and four travel-related cases. The new cases brought the overall number of confirmed registered cases in Bahrain to 39,482, ever since the first case was reported in February.

There were also 421 additional recoveries from COVID-19 yesterday, bringing the Kingdom’s total number of discharged individuals to 36,110. Following those recoveries, the current total of active cases continued to decrease, as the number went to 3,231, with 44 in critical condition and 74 receiving treatment. The remaining 3,187 cases are stable. The total tests conducted in Bahrain increased to 798,799.
