Speaker chairs parliamentary division coordination meeting

Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal chaired the coordination meeting of the Parliamentary Division delegation, to discuss the participation in the fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments and the 13th Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament, which will be held in Vienna in August.

The Speaker confirmed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy to highlight national efforts and achievements, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which will build and strengthen relations with world parliaments, as well as open up opportunities to cooperate with regional and international countries in many fields, including in the economic and investment sectors.

The Speaker added that the conferences are of the most important parliamentary events, which constitute an opportunity to exchange legislative experiences between countries, especially during the coronavirus pandemic. She noted that the Representatives Council is keen to participate in such international meetings in order to affirm Bahrain’s position in supporting global efforts to achieve peace, development, prosperity, and noble values for all humanity
