Zero COVID-19 deaths; overall confirmed cases near 40,000

There were zero lives taken by the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Bahrain yesterday, while 439 new cases were reported. The Ministry of Health announced early this morning that from 9,477 COVID-19 tests conducted yesterday, 187 new cases were detected amongst expatriate workers and 249 from contacts of active cases, while three were travel-related.

The new cases brought the overall number of confirmed registered cases in Bahrain to nearly 40,000 at 39,921, dating back to when the first case was reported in February. There were also 421 additional recoveries from COVID-19 yesterday, bringing the Kingdom’s total number of discharged individuals to 36,531. The total active cases rose slightly to 3,249, with 50 in critical condition and 77 receiving treatment. The overall tests conducted in Bahrain increased to more than 800,000.
