Three restaurants ordered to close

Three restaurants in Bahrain that hiked the price of meat dishes illegally to exploit the recently introduced removal of meat subsidy, have been shut down by the government. The move was made in compliance with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister during Cabinet meeting. The outlets Jan Burger restaurant in Hamad Town, Mathaif Ahlana restaurant in Riffa and Adam Broasted and Pastries in Arad, were investigated and verified following citizens' complaints received by the relevant directorate in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism. The restaurants failed to comply with notifications to adjust their statuses as per Consumer Protection Law 35/2012 and its implementation regulation.
