A memorable virtual mushaira

Majlis-E-Fakher-E-Bahrain organised a virtual poetry session or mushaira with the participation over 1200 enthusiasts from all over the world amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The session, which maintained the ambience of classical Mushaira gatherings, was held under the patronage of Shakeel Ahmad Sabrahadi and presided by Dr Nusrat Mahdi, an eminent poet from MP India.
Mushaira is a poetic symposium, where poets gather to perform their works, greatly admired by participants as a platform for free self-expression. A prominent scholar of Arabic language and literature, Dr Shoeb Nigrami was the chief guest.
Some of the fine Urdu poets, who attended and recited their verses were: Ajmal Siraj, a well-known Urdu poet from Karachi (Pakistan), Shakeel Azmi (India), Aziz Nabil (Qatar), Afzal Khan (Pakistan), Alok Siriwastaw (India), Suhail Saqib, Shiraz Mahdi Zia and Ghazala Kamrani from Saudi Arab, Ahmad Adil, Rukhsar Nazim Abadi, Ahmad Amir Pasha, Saeed Sadi and Sad Iqbal from Bahrain. This memorable poetical session was moderated by Aziz Nabil and Khurram Abbasi.
