Interior Ministry wins workers’ welfare award

TDT | Manama

The Ministry of Interior has won an award for “Best Workers Welfare Programme” for the year 2019. This came during the Presentation and Appreciation Ceremony, held remotely, of the third edition of the “Happiness @ Work Award”, which is managed by Dubai-based Sustainable Mindz—a pioneering strategic Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility (CSR) expertise centre in the Gulf and Middle East and North Africa region.

On this occasion, the ministry’s Human Resources assistant undersecretary Brigadier Adel Abdullah Amin affirmed that the achievement of this international accolade comes thanks to the support of Interior Minister Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.

It follows his directives aimed at continuing to develop the capabilities of the ministry’s employees, in a way that contributes to raising their efficiency and productivity in their fields of work. He noted the continuous follow-up of Ministry of Interior undersecretary Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa for the programmes and plans of human resources, and expressed his thanks and appreciation to all those who have contributed to achieving this international award.

The “Happiness @ Work Award” honours regional institutions that achieve the highest levels of commitment to the morale and health of their employees. A total of 19 winners from 65 government institutions have been announced in previous years in six different categories. The award covers government sector institutions, small and medium-sized companies and large companies, in addition to non-profit organisations that work to spread positivity out of their belief that “employee happiness” creates high performance.
