New Indian Ambassador welcomed

Officials from The Indian Club-Bahrain met new Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava for an official welcoming and extended the club’s assuredness of their support of the Indian community. Club president Stalin Joseph, general secretary Job M J and acting treasurer Vinod Thampi were among those on hand at the meeting.
Joseph detailed the club’s functions, its reputation for more than 100 years, the facility offerings to its members, social and cultural activities, putative tournaments of different sports, and other things. Club officials also talked about the difficulties members of the Indian community are facing during the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis and the services the club has extended to fellow nationals.
Initiatives like serving food kits, chartering repatriation flights and arranging medical support were well appreciated by the ambassador, who congratulated the club for its commitment and courtesy to the Indian community. The club’s officials also highlighted and discussed supporting fellow nationals in an “air bubble agreement” with India. The ambassador said he is already addressing this issue and Bahrain may be one of 13 countries included in its next phase.
