Health Minister receives leading consultant

Health Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh received American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) in the GCC elected president Dr Nisreen Al Sayed, who is also a diabetes, endocrinology and lipopathy consultant. The minister praised her significant contributions in scientific and medical research that have raised the efficiency of diagnosis and treatment services on an international level.

The meeting reviewed medical issues related to studying, diagnosing and treating diseases, especially lipid imbalance, high cholesterol, genetic factor role, and the importance of early diagnosis for such diseases.

The minister was briefed on AACE activities in the GCC and discussed the possibility of developing a national strategy for lipid deficiency diseases in Bahrain, as Dr Al Sayed was chosen to represent the Kingdom in European Genetic Cholesterol and Atherosclerosis Society, being the only Bahraini and the first Gulf Arab to obtain the American Board in the field of lipid imbalance.

Dr Al Sayed expressed appreciation for the ministry’s support and cooperation. She praised the Kingdom’s initiatives such as announcing a day to celebrate Bahraini doctors and dedicating HRH the Premier Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa’s award for Bahraini Doctors.
