Marine resources, Coast Guard cooperation discussed

Agriculture and Marine Resources undersecretary Dr Nabeel Mohammed Abu Al Fateh received Coast Guard commander Rear Admiral Ala’a Abdullah Seyadi. Dr Abu Al Fateh stressed the department’s keenness to cooperate with the Coast Guard to organise the marine fishery sector and stop violations that would affect fish stocks in Bahrain.
The undersecretary pointed out to the agreement between the two parties to continue campaigns against violators, following Decree 20/2002 regarding the regulation of fishing, exploitation and protection of marine wealth. He said that the two parties are implementing the Bahraini Nukhatha programme, which is part of the government’s strategy to provide various means of support for Bahrainis working in the fishery sector.
