Nominations continue for ‘Best Volunteer Project Award’

Nominations are being accepted for the sixth edition of the “Best Bahraini Volunteer Project Award”, the award committee announced. Held under the patronage of the Undersecretary of the Cabinet Affairs Ministry and Good Word Society’s Honorary President, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, the award honours Bahraini frontline competencies who have contributed to alleviating the impacts of the novel coronavirus pandemic in the kingdom.

 Yacub Bu Hazza, the award committee chairman, said they are accepting nominations through the website of Good Word Society.  Nomination window which opened on August 10 will close on September 10. Winners will receive a total of US $ 20,000 worth cash prizes during the award ceremony scheduled for September on the theme “National Cadres at the Frontlines”. 

Explaining, Bu Hazza said, “This year’s edition will shed light on creative initiatives and inspiring success stories of Bahraini youth whose projects have reflected positively on the nation and society amid the spread of COVID-19.”

Award jury comprising, Dr Faleh Al-Ruwaily, Ahmed Al-Ahmadi, and media personality Eman Marhoun, will assess the main goals of the projects, the segments they target, development prospects, and most importantly their ability to mitigate COVID-19 effects. The focus will also be on the “sustainability” theme in the projects and the extent of their relations to sustainable development goals.
