Needs of female job-seekers, productive families discussed

Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan received yesterday the Council of Representatives’ Parliamentary Standing Select Committee on Women and Child Affairs chairperson and Public Utilities and Environment Committee member Fatima Abbas Al Qatari.

The meeting focused on the latest developments of the labour market, the sustainability of the national workforce, and the need to preserve the rights of Bahraini workers under various circumstances to serve the comprehensive development march and the interests of everyone.

The minister briefed the lawmaker on the Labour Ministry’s initiatives and programmes aimed at serving various social segments, stressing the ministry’s interest in strengthening cooperation with the Legislative Branch to develop the multiple services it provides for the sake of ensuring decent living for citizens.

Al Qatari expressed her appreciation for the ongoing cooperation with the Labour Ministry, praising its role and approach in delivering services for all segments in the labour and social care fields. She also hailed the ministry’s keenness to enhance communication and cooperation channels with legislators, noting that both sides will step up their joint work in the field of services the Labour Ministry provides for female job seekers, productive families, women and children, in addition to their plans to develop the national legislation and laws related to those segments.
