Legal steps taken for illegal recruitment

Fifty-three workers, including four run-away maids, have been arrested after being illegally recruited, the Ministry of Interior announced. The ministry said that the Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science director-general reported that, in cooperation with the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, legal steps have been taken against 29 organisations for supplying domestic workers without licences. This has resulted in the apprehension of the 53 workers. The director-general added that legal proceedings are being taken in the case.
