Bahrain, UAE journalists’ associations sign cooperation agreement

The Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) and the UAE Journalists Association (UAEJA) announced yesterday the signing of a cooperation agreement related to journalism and the media. The agreement was signed in Dubai by BJA president Ahdeya Ahmed and UAEJA chairman Mohammed Al Hammadi, in the presence of UAEJA board members.
The agreement stipulates the organisation of mutual visits by journalists and training programmes and workshops, as well as the holding of sessions, conferences and seminars to support the profession, in light of the use of modern technologies. Ahdeya stressed the agreement’s importance for various reasons.
“We must keep pace with the global development in journalism and the media in order for us—as journalists and media professionals—to deliver our message. “There is a strong need to assist meaningful media discourse at a time when we face many challenges in unifying our messages.”
