Zero COVID-19 deaths, but 468 new active cases

Zero lives were taken by the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Bahrain yesterday, keeping the number of virus-related casualties in the Kingdom at 190. Meanwhile, the Health Ministry announced early this morning that it conducted 10,749 COVID-19 tests yesterday, from which 468 new cases were detected.

These included 123 expatriate workers, 340 contacts of active cases, and five travel-related cases. Their detection brought the overall number of confirmed registered cases in the Kingdom to 52,440, ever since the first case was reported in February. There were also 348 additional recoveries from the virus yesterday, bringing the Kingdom’s total number of discharged individuals to 49,395.

After confirming that the individuals were free of COVID-19, they were released from their respective treatment or quarantine centres. The total number of current active cases increased to 2,855, with 52 receiving treatment, of which 37 were in critical condition. The total tests conducted in Bahrain increased to 1,118,837.
