SCIA president becomes Muslim Council of Elders member

Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) president Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa has joined the Muslim Council of Elders. Muslim Council of Elders chairman Grand Imam Sheikh Dr Ahmed Al Tayeb, Sheikh of Al Azhar, issued an edict appointing Shaikh Abdulrahman as member, in recognition of his long-standing efforts and the SCIA’s pioneering role in the Kingdom.

The Muslim Council of Elders is an independent international organisation that was established in Ramadan 21, 1435 Hijri, corresponding to July 18, 2014, to promote peace In Islamic societies. Based in Abu Dhabi, the council seeks to harness efforts to advocate the unity of the Islamic nation, extinguish fires and end conflicts ravaging Muslim countries, due to decades-long sectarianism and violence.
