Human Trafficking case: Court rejects appeal of two men
TDT | Manama
A Bahraini court turned down the appeal of two men, who were convicted of human trafficking and sentenced to jail terms of three years and fines of BD2,000 along with a woman. The court also ordered to deport all of them, when they complete their jail terms. The duo, both expatriate men, according to court files, exploited two women by forcing them into prostitution.
The duo, police told the court, tricked the women, both Asian nationals, to come to Kingdom with fake job offers. Assisting the men in the crime was another man in their hometown. The victims were locked up in apartments in two different buildings and forced to have sex with strangers in exchange for money. The defendants, who were living on this money, also denied the victims basic life essentials. The prosecution charged then with human trafficking and exploitation based on witness testimonies and investigation reports.
