Strengthening the pillars of national security

The Southern Governorate is continuing its efforts to meet the security needs and aspirations of citizens within its district, through the strengthening of community partnership and coordination with relevant authorities. This was stressed yesterday by Southern Governor His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, as he chaired the eighth meeting of the Security Committee.

Deputy Governor Brigadier Isa Thamer Al Dossary and a number of officers representing various security departments at the Ministry of Interior participated in the virtual meeting. The governorate’s efforts are in line with the directives of Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa to strengthen the pillars of security nationwide.

HH the Southern Governor praised the coordination and cooperation among the competent authorities in launching the second edition of HH the Southern Governor’s virtual security programme, aimed at spreading security awareness among the Southern Governorate’s youngsters.

HH the Southern Governor stressed their keenness to receive and follow up on citizens’ security needs through available electronic channels, noting that as many as 56 security-related proposals and demands have been received by the governorate. Meanwhile, Riffa Civil Defence Centre chief Captain Mohammed Khan gave a video presentation on the monitoring of road accidents and security cases in the governorate.

HH the Southern Governor paid tribute to the Civil Defence for its personnel’s prompt response, as well as constant preparedness, in facing various accidents, and urged greater effort to ensure the safety of citizens. The participants expressed thanks and appreciation to the Southern Governorate for its constant keenness to follow up on security developments through the meetings of the Security Committee. They also stressed the importance of community partnership and continuous security initiatives in achieving security and safety across the Southern Governorate.
