Government of Bahrain to pay electricity, water and municipal fees for three months

In continuation of the implementation of the Royal directives through the financial and economic package to mitigate the repercussions of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic on citizens and the national economy, and in support of national efforts and within the framework of cooperation and coordination with the legislative authority, the government decided to sponsor electricity, water, and municipal fees for all subscribers of citizens in their first residence For a period of 3 months starting from October 2020, and not exceeding the bills of the same period last year for each subscriber.
In a related context, the Council of Ministers directed the Central Bank of Bahrain to urge all banks to postpone loan payments to citizens affected by the Corona pandemic until the end of this year in a manner that does not affect banks' liquidity and financial solvency.
On the other hand, the Council called on the honorable citizens and residents to adhere to social distancing and the guidelines of the national medical team to limit mixing and avoid gatherings, stressing the role and contributions of everyone in reducing the spread rates of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) by intensifying all precautionary measures and preventive measures to limit its spread and address it, and that The citizen and resident must support these efforts by adhering to the procedures and guidelines of the national medical team and not tolerating them in terms of societal responsibility to reduce prevalence rates.
