Two killed in traffic accident
Two Asian men were killed in a horrific traffic accident that involved two trucks in the Southern Governorate yesterday. The victims were stuck inside their garbage truck after it collided with a construction truck on a sub-road behind Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) factory in Askar area near the King Hamad Highway.
They were declared dead on the spot, after Civil Defence personnel broke open the truck and brought their squashed bodies out. Informed sources told DT News that the mishap occurred at 12pm, when one of the drivers violated the traffic instructions on the road and rammed into another truck.
Two other men were also involved in the accident. They sustained several injuries and were taken to hospital by ambulance. Traffic police launched a probe into the incident, while winches of the General Directorate of Traffic towed the wrecked trucks away.
The Interior Ministry also confirmed the incident on its official Twitter page stating, “Two died and two others injured in an accident between two trucks on a sub-road behind Alba in Askar. Police are at the scene.”
