Airlines Operation Committee meets to review new Passenger Terminal progress
Manama
The Airlines Operation Committee (AOC) held a meeting to discuss construction progress at the new Passenger Terminal and the status of its operational readiness, Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) announced.
Attendees were briefed on key topics, including the Operational Readiness Airport Transfer (ORAT) processes, aviation security, fire prevention guidelines, airside operations, commercial developments, ICT updates, and Hala Bahrain’s upgraded services at the new facility.
“With its state-of-the-art facilities and improved services, the new terminal will play a key role in helping airlines to attract passengers and deliver an enhanced travel experience," BAC CEO Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah, said.
"The successful launch of the new Passenger Terminal requires the strong support of airlines and other stakeholders. As we prepare to transfer operations to the new facility, our goal is to make sure that everyone involved in this important national project understands what is required of them. BAC, its partners, and airport stakeholders are taking steady and coordinated steps to ensure all ORAT preparations and activities are implemented as planned. The continued briefings to our partners and members of the AOC play a vital role in the process by providing a platform for us to exchange information and discuss crucial topics.”
The AOC is tasked with promoting cooperation among BAC and its partners.
The AOC is involved in all areas pertaining to airport operations and maintains an active presence in renovation and construction projects.
The second and final construction phase of the new Passenger Terminal was recently inaugurated. The project milestone will see the eastern section of the current terminal demolished to make way for the western part of the new facility, which is being built adjacent.
