Dawoodi Bohra women sew facemasks to support RHF

Women from the Dawoodi Bohra community in Bahrain were invited by the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) to sew facemasks, which are to be distributed to school students for protection against the coronavirus (COVID-19). A total of 2,521 facemasks of two sizes were made—one for children between the age of six to nine and another between 10 and 15.
“We are privileged to have played a part in RHF’s nationwide initiative to produce facemasks and distribute free of cost, as the Kingdom fights against the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Dawoodi Bohra Women’s Committee in Bahrain member Munira Shafiq. The RHF has also awarded a certificate of appreciation to Bohra women for their valuable contribution in the facemask initiative.
As part of the community’s global philanthropic endeavour Project Rise, Dawoodi Bohra community volunteers in different parts of the world continue to mobilize efforts and extend whatever help they can to people in need.
In Bahrain, the members have been distributing food and water to labourers and providing thank you fruit baskets to healthcare workers, while supporting various organizations like the RHF, the Capital Governorate, the Ministry of Health and other worthwhile initiatives.
