New 585 coronavirus cases, three more deaths

COVID-19 cases continued to increase in the Kingdom, with the authorities here yesterday reporting 585 new virus cases. Authorities had earlier warned that if the caseload continues to increase, then Bahrain might reverse some of the restriction it has eased earlier. The Kingdom now has a total of 68,775 confirmed cases here, as the overall death toll also increased by three to 239, yesterday.

Two Bahraini women aged 54 and 62 years and a Bahraini man, aged 68, years are the latest COVID-19 related fatalities in Bahrain. Health authorities carried out 10,131 COVID-19 tests yesterday detecting 585 new cases, of which 104 are expatriate workers, 471 are contacts of active cases, and ten cases are travel related.

The number of active coronavirus patients in the Kingdom has reached 6,284, out of which 6,223 patients are health-wise stable. With 777 more people recovering, the overall number of people cured of their infections in the Kingdom now reached 62,252, said Health Ministry in a tweet.
