Three more COVID-19 deaths, overall cases near 70,000

The coronavirus (COVID-19) took three more lives in Bahrain yesterday, the Ministry of Health announced. The deceased included a 72-year-old female citizen, an 80-year-old male citizen, and a 68-year-old male expatriate.
Their passing brought the Kingdom’s virus-related death toll to 242. Meanwhile, the ministry also announced yesterday that, from 9,118 COVID-19 tests, 586 fresh infections were detected. These included 144 expatriate workers, 433 contacts of active cases, and nine travel-related cases.
They brought the overall number of cases in Bahrain, ever since the first was announced in February, to nearly 70,000 at 69,361. There were also 635 additional recoveries yesterday, bringing the total discharged to 62,887. The active cases, therefore, went to 6,232, with 153 receiving treatment, of which 61 are critical.
