Three die from COVID-19; 662 recoveries

Three more patients succumbed to the coronavirus (COVID-19) yesterday, bringing the virus-related death toll in the Kingdom to 245, the Ministry of Health announced. The deceased included a Bahraini woman, 64, and an 81-year-old male citizen, along with an expatriate man, 56.
Early this morning, the ministry also announced 662 new recoveries from the respiratory ailment, raising the number of survivors to 63,549. There were 487 new active cases detected yesterday following 10,557 tests. The fresh infections included 135 expatriate workers and 343 from contacts of active cases, while nine were travel-related.
The new cases - including active, recoveries, and deaths - brought the overall number of confirmed registered cases in Bahrain to nearly 70,000 at 69,848, dating back to when the first case was reported in February. A total of 149 is receiving treatment with 61 critical and 5,993 in stable condition. The total tests done in Bahrain increased to 1,418 129. The ministry has expressed its condolences to the families of the deceased.
