HRH the Crown Prince praises GDN outgoing editor-in-chief

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, yesterday met remotely with Gulf Daily News (GDN) editor-in-chief George Williams. HRH the Crown Prince acknowledged Williams’s extensive career with the GDN, wishing him success in his future endeavors.

For his part, Williams expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet HRH the Crown Prince, and for his continued support towards further strengthening the role of the Kingdom’s national press. HRH the Crown Prince highlighted the important role of the national press in reporting on the Kingdom’s many achievements across all sectors, adding that journalists and press outlets are partners in the Kingdom’s development process.

HRH the Crown Prince noted the broad history of the Kingdom’s national press, represented by those who established it and the following generations who continue to provide professional and responsible journalism to inform the public.
