BCCI chief hails support to private sector

Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has hailed the government’s decision to pay 50% of the salaries of Bahraini private workers adversely affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) for a period of three months, starting in October until December.
BCCI chairman Samir Abdulla Nasser said the decisions, which were announced during the weekly Cabinet meeting, chaired remotely by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and First Deputy Prime Minister will benefit 23,000 Bahraini citizens and 4,000 establishments.
He welcomed the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to harness all national efforts to combat the coronavirus, protect citizens and residents’ health and safety and ensure state’s programs to achieve sustainable development goals. The chamber commended the decision to shoulder 50% of the salaries of a total of 524 uninsured employees in kindergartens and nurseries for a period of three months starting from October.
