Relaxation of COVID-19 related restriction is showing signs of a rebound in Bahrain’s trade dynamics, the quarterly report said, even though both import and export volumes remain below the levels of last year. Total value non-oil imports of national origin dropped 7.8pc to BD1,167.7m, non-oil exports declined by an annual 11.9pc, within that the value of goods of national origin exported totalled US$539.8m, a decline of 9.3pc.

Despite this, the trade gap decreased by 1.4pc to BD485m, down from BD492m a year earlier. According to CBB, total exports increased by 37.7pc YoY in Q2 2020, totalling around BD1bn. On the other hand, oil and gas exports decreased 63.6pc YoY, with a total value of BD0.3bn.
