The Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) and the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) launched an opinion survey on the training and awareness needs for the upcoming parliamentary and municipal elections.
The survey will be held for two categories – the first is for those wishing to run for the upcoming elections and election campaign managers, while the second is for the public on electoral awareness. The survey aims to develop electoral awareness programs provided by the institute, to specify the training needs for candidates and electoral teams, to achieve community partnership in developing elections features, to prepare the candidates for electoral action and managing electoral campaigns.
It also seeks to ensure voter electoral participation awareness and their role in selecting the most qualified candidates. The survey’s aspects will include: analyzing the reality of electoral participation in Bahrain, knowing the training and awareness needs, and identifying the obstacles faced by former candidates in managing electoral campaigns, whether in the field, media, political and others, in addition to knowing the programs and means used to educate voters of the importance of political participation. The co-operation is based on the belief in the importance of a partnership between various national institutions to spread political and democracy awareness according to national laws.
