Preparations discussed for Fifth Legislative Term third session

Council of Representatives Speaker Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal has discussed the Parliament’s preparations for the third session of the Fifth Legislative Term, to be opened by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on 11 October. The speaker gave directives to the Representatives Council’s Secretariat-General to make optimal use of electronic systems to ensure the smooth flow of parliamentary meetings.
She made the statements while meeting yesterday Council of Representatives secretary-general Chancellor Rashid Mohammed Bu Najma, and the Secretariat-General’s senior officials. Bu Najma reviewed all the necessary equipment and scenarios for the opening ceremony and the procedural session of the Council of Representatives.
He also unveiled the launch of an electronic voting system, designed by Bahraini competencies. He also affirmed full commitment to the precautionary measures recommended by the National Medical Taskforce to combat coronavirus during the parliamentary sessions.
