Apartment building catches fire in Rifa, 7 treated for smoke inhalation

Residents of a multi-story residential building in Riffa were rushed outside to safety after a fire broke out on one of the floors of the building. No casualty was reported in the incident.
Seven people who suffered injuries following smoke inhalation was taken immediately to a hospital by the National Ambulance service team.
The Civil Defence officers who reached the scene after receiving alert brought the fire under control quickly. Preliminary investigation points negligence as the cause of the fire. However, what exactly started the fire or the extent of damage is not known. The investigation is ongoing.
