Foreign Minister highlights Bahrain human rights achievements

Bahrain is committed to upholding human rights to protect national interests and support all efforts aimed at achieving peace, stability, and progress.

The Kingdom’s human rights achievements were highlighted by Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani as he chaired the meeting of the Higher Coordination Committee for Human Rights, which was held yesterday, via visual electronic communication. Also taking part in the meeting were Foreign Affairs Assistant Minister and Committee Vice-Chairman Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabr Al Dosari and members of the committee.

The Minister stressed Bahrain’s pioneering initiatives at the regional and international levels to enhance the country’s leading role in protecting human rights and fundamental freedoms. He praised the visions and interest of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to consolidate the Kingdom’s human rights and enhance the country’s leading role in this field.

The Minister referred to the lofty visions of His Majesty the King and his firm belief in the principles and values of tolerance and coexistence. He explained that the initiative of Bahrain to sign a declaration in support of peace with Israel embodies the values of the people of the Kingdom who believe in tolerance and coexistence.

Bahrain is always committed to spread a message of peace to the world and to achieve hope for all generations and peoples of the region to live in a safe, stable, prosperous, and sustainable environment away from wars and conflicts.

The Minister also lauded the Coordination Committee members, praising the tangible efforts they are making to enhance co-operation and joint coordination between all ministries and bodies concerned with human rights.

He also affirmed the Ministry’s keenness to enhance co-operation and joint coordination among various ministries and government agencies to achieve more human rights achievements to realize the vision of His Majesty the King
