The Ministry of Transportation and Communications, in coordination with the company operating the Khalifa Bin Salman Port (IBM Terminals Bahrain), presented the timeframe for trucks to receive and deliver containers through the official website of the company operating the port.
Ports Affairs Assistant Undersecretary Bader Hood Al Mahmoud said it is part of their initiatives to promote transparency and strengthen the mechanisms of communication with its valued customers. Work is also underway to install cameras for the live broadcast of the container terminal gate to reflect the vivid picture of the size of the port’s operations.
On the other hand, Al Mahmoud stated that the company operating the port has launched a package of development measures that have been implemented during the past few weeks. It is expected to raise the efficiency of services provided to customers, as the number of reservations has recently increased by 48 additional containers per day and extended delivery times for three hours.
From 5am until 7pm on weekdays, the schedule of reservations for 10 prior days are displayed on the website of the operating company in order to enable merchants and importers to organise their reservations in advance and see the vacant dates for reserving containers.
