3D printing technology introduced in Bahrain
For the first time in the country, and only the second time in the world, the Bahrain Training Institute has introduced 3D printing technology to its curriculum. Under the guidance of Dr. Fawzi Al Jowder, Director General of Bahrain Training Institute, the Art and Design Department of the Institute has introduced 3D pen technology as a program for interior design and graphics.
Head of Arts and Design department Basma Matouq pointed out that the 3D pen is the latest technology in the 3D printing field, with which a student can draw in the air and create 3D models. The technology helps students be more creative and innovate as they produce various materials. Matouq added that each trainee would be given a 3D pen to use in the classroom under the supervision of the trainer. A workshop on 3D Expertos will also be held to explain the best uses of the pen and its materials. The department will start teaching the 3D Technology using the pen from current semester itself.
