Court sentences car arsonists
Four persons who set a car on fire on February 10 have been sent to five years behind bars. The incident happened in Duraz and court files stated that the first defendant brought the car from a scrapyard and parked it near a local garden.
His accomplices later joined him and pushed the car into a public road before torching it by pouring petrol on it. They were tried in the case before the High Criminal Court. Hearing adjourned In a separate case, the trial of three men accused of making a bomb and planting it in a highway was adjourned yesterday until 26th November to hear prosecution witnesses.
The accused reportedly placed the explosive near the village of Abu Saiba. The defendants had allegedly intended to explode the bomb using a phone devices, but it didn't go off.
