Filipino overseas voting registration resumes

Manama

The Philippine Embassy announced yesterday that it is continuing its overseas voting registration for the 2022 National Elections. The embassy has resumed the activity following a five-month suspension due to the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, it said on social media.

The registration is part of the embassy’s efforts to gradually shift back to normal consular operations while having in place the required safety precautions and protocols within its premises. Overseas voting registration gives an opportunity for Filipinos in Bahrain to become eligible voters in the 2022 elections. The embassy noted that since resuming the activity, a total of 261 new voters have so far signed on, as of the end of September.

Filipinos in Bahrain have expressed their gratefulness to the embassy for the resumption of the registration, in which Philippine citizens have the chance to exercise their right and duty to choose the next leaders of the country. The embassy has so far registered more than 1,600 voters since commencing the current registration period in December of 2019. The last day of overseas voting registration in Bahrain is on September 30, 2021.

Those interested in the overseas voting registration should contact the embassy for details on how to proceed.
