North Sitra port to get new boat slide
TDT | Manama
The port in the North Sitra industrial area will be easier to access for fishermen soon, thanks to a new boat slide coming up there.
The Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning has shown green light for the implementation of a boat launch there. The slide will help the fishermen, as well as recreational boaters, practice their work with ease.
The project, the Ministry said, meets a long-standing demand of the Sitra fishermen for the port which has a capacity of 64 boats.
It also falls in line with the Government’s policy to increase the capacity of seaports and develop vital services and facilities there.
The project, in line with the directives of Bahraini leadership, is being followed-up by Deputy Fadel Al-Sawad, representative of the Eighth District in the Capital Governorate.
It is worth noting that the Ministry had previously implemented development works at the port, which included reclamation, rock protection, asphalt paving and pavement construction.
