Bahrain spend BD 1.5 mln to settle athletes' dues

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has paid out BD 1.5 million toward 545 athletes’ pending dues, it was announced. The money was deposited into the accounts of the national players and club coaches and also included 200 sportspeople whose disputes were settled by an arbitration panel.
Based on a parliament directive, the government launched a programme in association with the Finance and National Economy Ministry and the Bahrain Development Bank to provide an interest-free loan to 38 clubs in order to pay the athletes.
