No engineering defects at Saar Interchange : Ministry

Bahrain authorities yesterday rebuffed as untrue rumours circulating online claiming that a major road project in the Kingdom was flawed.
The Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry categorically denied claims of engineering defects at the Saar Interchange on Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway.
The claims, which went viral on social media platforms, stated that the authorities had bulldozed parts of the under-construction flyover to cover-up technical and engineering flaws.
The Ministry clarified that the structure demolished at the project site was a temporary precast factory and this was according to plan.
“We razed the plant as its services were no longer required with the project nearing completion,” the Ministry confirmed.
The bridge will reopen in the first quarter of 2021.
