Princess Sabeeka to patronise conference

‘Women in the Financial and Banking Sector’ conference, to be held on November 30, will be patronised by Wife of His Majesty the King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Supreme Council for Women (SCW) Chairwoman HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa.

Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) and SCW announced that Dr. Mahnaz Safa, a senior London based banker, will address the conference.

Dr. Safa is the Managing Director of Citigroup, where she advises the bank’s investment banking clients on corporate finance and risk management. She is also the co­chair of Citi’s EMEA Banking Executive Committee for Women’s Leadership.

Dr. Safa will take part in the conference’s keynote plenary session 'Leading the Change: Factors Shaping the Future of Women in Finance, on her vast industry experience.

The conference marks the conclusion of a year­long campaign, being held as part of the 2015 Bahraini Women’s Day celebrations, in order to enhance women's role in the financial and banking sector. where she will draw CBB Executive Director for Administrative Services Dr. Huda Hussain Al­ Maskati expressed delight at announcing the participation of top global industry leaders in this conference, adding that this gathering will be a key platform for dialogue and discussion on women's development in this sector.

The conference is expected to bring together more than 250 senior officials and heads of major financial institutions in Bahrain, as well as women at senior positions in the sector.
