US Secretary visits Bahrain National Museum

US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper visited the Bahrain National Museum where he was received by Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Director of Museums and Antiquities Department at the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities.
The US Secretary toured a number of the halls of the National Museum which show the rich history and civilisation of the Kingdom of Bahrain, dating back to the era of the Dilmun civilisation more than 4000 years ago. Among the attractions in the museum are the Dilmunia, the archaeological discoveries, and the Cemetery Hall, which tells the story ofthe burials of the Dilmun hills, which is the third Bahrain site registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Esper was also briefed on the museum’s efforts aimed at preserving and promoting the ancient Bahraini heritage locally and internationally.
