HM the King praises Bahrain-US strategic relations

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has praised the strategic relations and close partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the US.

HM the King also hailed the continuous development and growth witnessed by bilateral co-operation in all areas, especially with regard to military coordination and defence co-operation.

This came as HM the King welcomed at the Sakhir Palace yesterday US Secretary of Defence Mark Esper and his accompanying delegation on the occasion of his visit to the Kingdom.

HM the King reviewed with him the historical ties between the two countries and ways to develop them. He affirmed that for decades the Bahraini-American relations have been based on trust, mutual respect and common eagerness to achieve the goals and interests of the two friendly countries.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on a number of regional and international issues and developments of common interest, foremost of which are the developments in the region. HM the King lauded the efforts of Secretary Esper in strengthening Bahraini-American co-operation in the military and defence aspects.

His Majesty also praised the pivotal role the US administration in consolidating the foundations of security, stability and regional and global peace, and its keenness to enhance joint co-operation with the Kingdom.

For his part, the Secretary Esper expressed his thanks and appreciation to HM the King for the warm welcome and for his efforts in strengthening close ties of friendship and mutual co-operation.
