An electronic shopping platform has been launched by the Bahrain Foundation for Entrepreneurship to promote local products and support Bahrain’s smaller companies and entrepreneurs.
Under the patronage of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, an opening ceremony was held to introduce the new online shopping arena for Bahraini products and services.
It was attended by businesswoman Feryal Nass, Sheikha Maryam bint Hamad Al Khalifa, ministry representative Iman Ahmed Al Dossary and other top officials.
Till date, the platform includes 21 Bahraini companies in various sectors of trade and investment. The foundation considers the project a “unified platform” for Bahraini youth and entrepreneurs to share their creativity, inspire and support their industrial and commercial activities in various fields.
The ministry praised the initiatives that will support the visions and strategies of the government towards sustainable development and opening new opportunities for Bahraini entrepreneurs to go global.
It is also aimed at enriching the sector with more creative and innovative ideas, in addition to creating a new approach to deal with challenges Bahrain may face particularly during these exceptional times for the global economy.
“This is a new initiative to stimulate the market especially during this time of coronavirus pandemic,” said Ms Nass. “This platform can help cushion its negative impact in the national economy. In particular, we hope to help Bahrain companies recover from this global problem and create real opportunities for small enterprises and entrepreneurs.”
