The Ministry of Labour and Social Development is overseeing the implementation of health precautionary measures against Covid-19 in 37 Government-run and private rehabilitation centres for people with physical disabilities.

“The drive also covers 46 kindergartens to ensure the safety of handicapped students who were allowed to return to classes last October 25,” said Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan.

The resumption of work at rehabilitation centres and kindergartens was based on a ministry’s circular, in line with the directives of the Executive Committee, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.

The minister said that inspectors are paying random visits to rehabilitation centres and kindergartens to assess their compliance with the mandatory precautionary measures and health protocols for combating the pandemic and ensure students and personnel’s safety.

The inspectors ensured the implementation of mandatory precautionary measures and health protocols, which include especially social distancing, disinfection of buses which should be sterilized daily and used at half capacity, in addition to temperature checking, the provision of face masks and sanitisers.
