Trap on way for stray dogs in Bahrain

Authorities seem determined to end stray dog menace in Bahrain for good. Taking a step in this direction is Bahrain’s Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning.
According to Tender board, the ministry has placed a tender for which six interested parties have come forward.
However, catching strays are turning out to be a costly affair with contractors asking between BD25,200 and BD129,143 to end the menace.
The lowest rate was quoted by Black Gold Equipment Hiring and the highest by Urbaser Bahrain Co WLL.
The deal emerged as the authority’s tender opening committee verified around 89 bids received for 16 tenders.
The ministry also had three other tenders.
A tender seeking Master Plan Consultancy Services for Sports City at Sakhir had Populous Limited as the sole bidder. Among others, tender for the operation and maintenance of the traditional secondary treatment system in the Tubli wastewater treatment plant attracted 13 bids, and that for the construction of new roads for residential areas in Aker’s Block 624 - Phase 1 and 2 found 17 takers.
40 used car for sale
Ministry of Finance and National Economy is selling 40 of its used saloon cars. A tender placed for the purpose attracted two takers.
A BD42,920 bid placed by Adnan M Buvheeri was the lowest and BD201,000 by Driver Auto Service was the highest.
The Tender Board also opened four bids for providing health insurance for the year 2021 to the employees of Ministry of Foreign Affairs. BD623,758.800 quoted by t’azur Company was the lowest and BD1,010,661.750 by Bahrain Kuwait Insurance was the highest.
A tender by the Electricity and Water Authority seeking skilled labour received two bids.
The authority’s Central Stores Department also had two tenders. The first was for purchasing ground cables for which five bids were received. The second was for the purchase of water tools. Four bids was received for this tender.
Valuation of Bnet assets
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) wanted to hold an independent review of the valuation of the assets of Bnet. A tender submitted for the process received two bids.
Arthur D. Little Middle East FZ-LLC is asking for US$110,000 and DT Economics Limited US$367,200 for accepting the contract.
Ministry of Education has also placed a tender for the maintenance of Multimedia Projectors, Interactive Multimedia Projectors and Electronic Boards (Schools and Directories), which found three takers.
Gulf Air catering at Kerala capital
In the aviation sector, Gulf Air’s contract for air catering services at the Trivandrum International Airport, in south India, found a single bidder. The Muthoot Skychef (A unit of MPG Hotels and Infrastructure ventures private limited) quoted INR15,860.250 for the work.
In the oil and gas sector, the committee opened two tenders for the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco).
The first was for a three-year contract for monitoring ground- water in the refining plant and Sitra reservoirs area and issuing the necessary reports. Four bids received for this tender. The second tender was for a contract For three years to provide laundry and dry cleaning services to Awali Hospital and Al-Musfat Clinic. Five bids received for this tender.
Supreme Council wants 41 cars
Bahrain’s Supreme Council is looking to lease 41 vehicles for its works here for four years, said a tender opened. Six parties came forward to lend vehicles. Aradous Car Hiring’s BD256,838.400 was the lowest bid.
Edamah is rebranding
Edamah is looking forward to giving a rebrand to its management services, according to a tender opened.
Nine parties are competing for the contract, said the tender board. From 6Communications Co is the lower bidder at BD32,130 and DOTM placed the highest bid of BD150,228.750.
